Volunteer Roles

Sidewalker

The role of the sidewalker is to assist the client as directed during the lesson. This can include providing physical support, offering encouragement and reinforcing instruction during the lesson. This is a great role for volunteers wanting to work one on one with the clients and form those special relationships.

Horse Leader

For volunteers familiar with horses, or those wanting to learn more about horses, this role is for you! During the lesson, the leader’s responsibility is the horse—maintaining the pace, direction and speed of the horse—while promoting the independence and skills of the rider.

Handyman

This role is best for those with a knack for fixing and building things. Being a new center, we have a very long project list! From organizing our tack room to building ramps and arena equipment, we need your assistance!

Group Opportunities

As a non-profit organization, Texas Therapeutic Riding Center is seeking groups to help us complete and fund our projects. We welcome groups to help us fulfill our mission!

Please contact us if you have a volunteer group for more details and opportunities.
